On the One Hand, Google APIs
I'm torn.
On the one hand, I really like the Google APIs, I like the fact that Google is making them public for developers to take advantage of and I like the functionality they provide.
On the other hand, I hate the manner in which the APIs are released and made public. Maybe there's a good reason, but from where I stand, the API key system sucks.
On the one hand, I can do cool stuff and I can do that cool stuff quickly and easily.
On the other hand, I can't deploy the cool stuff I do easily in any sort of decentralized (read: non-ASP - that's Application Service Provider, not Active Server Pages) product model where multiple domains come into play.
One the one hand, I can work more productively and efficiently and get code to market quicker.
On the other hand, I have to transfer the onus of making my code operable to my clients who have to register for one or more API keys in one or more URI paths.
I'm torn.
