Today's Musical Re-Awakening
My music catalog is modest compared to many, I'm sure, but at ~12 gigs there's plenty of room for songs to get lost and get lost they do. Since I'm not fortunate enough to be able to spend 24 hours a day listening to music it can be days or even weeks between plays of any given song. A while back, I wrote about rediscovering the Lovemongers' cover of Led Zeppelin's Battle of Evermore.
Today it's The Yardbirds covering Smokestack Lightning by Howlin' Wolf. Fantastic. The version I have is from The Best of British Blues, Vol. 1. Lots of other good stuff on this album, but The Yardbirds just rock Smokestack Lightning.
